Call of Duty Next 2024 swooped in with exciting new information regarding the upcoming Black Ops 6, Warzone, Zombie mode, weapons, modes, and so much more. The four-hour-long showcase offered a sneak peek into the franchise's future, featuring exciting gameplay snippets and interviews with the game’s developers. In this article, we’ll cover everything there’s to know!
Want to prepare for Black Ops 6? Grab yourself a SCUF controller, now an official partner of the Call of Duty franchise. With SCUF controllers, key actions like reload, slide, or jump that are normally bound to your face buttons can also be assigned to paddles on the back of the controller. If you want your aim to stay consistent, check out SCUF Reflex for PS5, SCUF Instinct for Xbox Series X/S, or SCUF Envision for PC. Get an edge over your opponents by never needing to lose control of your aim, and having advanced movement techniques - like the new omnimovement system - available right at your fingertips.
The next Call of Duty game is set to feature a thrilling new Zombies map that’s sure to enhance the gameplay experience. Liberty Falls is a small town in West Virginia that has been described as a “once-idyllic, now horrific” location. This Black Ops 6 medium-sized map is controlled by the undead army, with your only goal being to rescue your friends and stay alive!
According to an official blog post, players will be a “part of the Project Janus forces” led by the cautious Security Chief John Blanchard. Although the “battle seems well and truly lost,” do you have what it takes to overturn the tide and walk out of there alive? The Zombies mode has been a staple in the Call of Duty franchise, so it’s exciting to know that changes have been made to it!
Wonder Weapons are a massive part of the Zombies mode, so it doesn’t surprise anyone to know that the Ray Gun is returning with a much more advanced look and functionality. The small, useful tools will also see visual enhancements in Black Op 6, along with extra power.
So, if you manage to get your hands on them on any map, you’ll have an advantage over the undead. The upcoming game will also introduce a new weapon called the Thrustodyne Model 23. You can find it in Liberty Falls only and use it to suck up every zombie that dares cross you.
While it’s always fun to upgrade your Wonder Weapons and slash through the army of the undead, the devs have decided to take it up a notch with their brand-new Main Quests. This forces the players to constantly move through the terrifying and twisted maps within the game. Each Black Ops 6 map will feature a unique multi-stage Main Quest for players to complete.
In the same blog post, the team at Treyarch said that these quests are “as involved and difficult as they are entertaining.” If you have what it takes to go through every crevice and corner of these maps to solve the various clues and mysteries, then "expect to be recompensed with unique and limited-time rewards.” So, the only question remains: do you have what it takes?
During CoD Next 2024, the developers highlighted some changes they’ll introduce in Black Ops 6. On top of Omnimovement getting enhanced, Time To Kill (TTK) is set to be much faster than what players experienced in Black Ops Cold War, for instance. Players can also see their character’s health bar now on their HUD. Moreover, the much-anticipated game will also feature audio improvements, slide canceling, and some other exciting features, such as map voting.
During CoD Next 2024, it was announced that the Prestige system is set to return, allowing fans to earn rewards even after reaching their season’s level cap. With 10 levels of Prestige available for players to reach, you will see that previous Black Ops titles have inspired each level.
In the same blog post, Activision has called the improved feature “the most rewarding Prestige system ever” to be introduced in Black Ops history that will introduce tons of content for you to unlock. Prestige is set to come out with Warzone Season 1, Zombies, and Multiplayer.
In the next CoD game, players will see eight brand-new maps to explore during its upcoming beta. These maps are Scud, Stakeout, Derelict, Gala, Rewind, Skyline, Babylon, and Pit. Players can also explore Protocol during the beta phase as a mere training map, but it’ll be playable in October once Black Ops 6 officially launches. Some other maps have also been confirmed, including Red Card, Sand House, Lowtown, Subsonic, Vault, Payback, and Vorkuta.
The next Treyarch CoD game features a multiplayer mode that will introduce Kill Order into the game, which is a 6v6 battle. In this mode, both teams are assigned the task of protecting a high-value target (HVT). Respawns are enabled in this mode, with each kill awarding you points. However, getting rid of the HVT will bring you and your team two steps closer to winning.
On top of this, the developers also announced a variation of this exciting mode called Face Off Kill Order, which mainly has the same rules. However, it does turn off Scorestreaks and ensures that the fight between the two teams stays to close-quarters Strike maps. Like the previous Call of Duty titles, Black Ops 6 will introduce a Ranked mode for players who love competitive play.
In the past, it has taken quite some time for Ranked to launch even after the game, but Activision ensures that the mode is set to come out with Season 1. This means you’ll only have to wait a couple of weeks for the mode to be released after the game’s launch.
This Warzone Resurgence Map is referred to as “the birthplace of Nuketown.” Area 99’s landscape features main roadways for players who prefer traveling on foot and in vehicles, whereas other points of interest are connected to open trenches of wiring, sand, and pipework. Players will find themselves in a new area with each POI that’ll feel familiar to Nuketown fans.
Call of Duty: Next 2024 officially confirmed that Warzone will continually support skins, weapons, Operators, blueprints, and a wide range of cosmetics from previous CoD games like Modern Warfare 2 and Modern Warfare 3. This means that the next CoD Warzone is only bound to get bigger and better as it evolves. Let’s hope the game releases soon so we can dive into it!
