Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 Campaign – Everything We Know So Far

Activision is finally preparing for the October release of Call of Duty: Black Ops 6. That’s right, one of the most anticipated new games is finally coming out this year. Fortunately for us, there are already plenty of teasers, videos, and details to go over.

Black Ops 6 is the next premium installment in the blockbuster first-person shooter series Call of Duty. Raven Software grabbed the stage during the Gamescom 2024 Opening Night Live ceremonies to provide an in-depth look at the Black Ops campaign mission named “Most Wanted.”

This teaser gives us a better idea of what players can anticipate from the game’s narrative. Katherine Anderson of Raven Software claims we can expect “blockbuster action where players question everything and trust no one.” It appears like open-combat - or even open-world - missions will be included. There is a lot to unpack in Call of Duty: Black Ops 6. So, here’s everything we know so far: from the release date, beta details, and a new teaser from Gamescom 2024.

Of course, the best way to prepare for a new entry in the Call of Duty franchise is to upgrade your loadout. With SCUF controllers, key actions like reload, slide, or jump that are normally bound to your face buttons can also be assigned to paddles on the back of the controller. If you want your aim to stay consistent, check out SCUF Reflex for PS5, SCUF Instinct for Xbox Series X/S, or SCUF Envision for PC. Get an edge over your opponents by never needing to lose control of your aim, and having advanced movement techniques - like the new omnimovement system - available right at your fingertips.

Black Ops 6 Announcement

Black Ops 6 was first announced at the Xbox presentation at Summer Games Fest earlier this year, and its release date was also disclosed. Since then, we’ve seen a steady flow of new information from official channels, including a full look at the Zombies mode recently.

The title is widely anticipated, with the longest development cycle (four years) of any other premium Call of Duty release. Black Ops 6 will also be available on Game Pass, which is great news for Xbox players. Overall, we’re well into the pre-release hype period for Black Ops 6, and one thing is for sure: we cannot wait to play the game!

Black Ops 6 Campaign Trailer

At Gamescom Opening Night Live, Activision showed off six minutes of campaign gameplay, including stacking up on entrances, firing at a large, armored solider with a minigun, and riding on the back of a vehicle while more shooting occurred.

Playing as Pantheon, the trailer teased an incredible homing knife, shock nades, and a utility wheel.

The updated campaign included additional aspects, such as players infiltrating a senator’s event. New technology can be shown, such as using a camera to take a snapshot that is subsequently utilized to evade a facial recognition scanner. The chosen mission follows the newly renegade Black Ops unit as they release returning figure Russell Adler. The trailer included gunplay and battle against heavily armored opponents, a vehicle chase with stolen dirt bikes, and a glimpse at the all-new explosive, homing, throwable knife. The new movement system, known as Omnimovement, was also demonstrated in the gameplay reveal, with the player plunging backward to land prone on their back.

Activision has also launched a special interactive website, TheTruthLies, that allows you to spin among six channels on an ancient CRT. While some just show static, others are starting to show movies that hint at the status of the in-game environment, including iconic American landmarks and historical locations highlighted with the Black Ops 6 insignia and other significant terms.

Black Ops 6 Beta Dates

The good news is that the Black Ops 6 beta will begin on August 30. The beta will be divided into two parts, with Early Access running from August to September 4. The Open Beta will start on September 6 and last a few days, ending on September 9. It’s a small window, so note your calendars, and don’t forget to join in on the fun.

Players can preload Call of Duty: Black Ops 6’s open beta on August 28. The beta will also be available on all platforms, so whether you’re a PC or console gamer, you can enjoy the game on these dates.

Black Ops 6 Campaign Story

Call Of Duty Black Ops 6 campaign takes place in 1991, immediately after the Cold War. It is intimately related to the flashbacks from the 1980s that Black Ops 2 fans will remember.

This best call of duty campaign depicts the downfall of the Soviet Union following the end of the Berlin War, leaving the United States as the single superpower in the global arena.

Woods and Marshall are suspended from the CIA when an operation goes badly, forcing them to go rogue and trust one another to find out what’s going on. Rather than depending on familiar faces, the duo form a new squad to battle foes formerly thought to be comrades.

The extended gameplay look has fueled excitement for Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 ahead of the COD: Next presentation, which begins on August 28. COD: Next will provide an in-depth look at the game’s multiplayer and Zombies modes and what’s coming for Call of Duty: Warzone.
