Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order Game Guide

Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order Game Guide

On a venture to restore the Jedi Order as a young Jedi Padawan, Cal Kestis, must reconnect to The Force and complete his training while escaping capture by the Empire.

With gameplay reminiscent of Dark Souls and Uncharted, Star Wars Jedi: The Fallen Order is a single player action adventure experience by Respawn Entertainment and EA for PS4, Xbox One, and PC.

How To Improve Your Gameplay Using a SCUF

Paddles

With so many functions to engage, use more of your hand with Paddles to Wall Run, Jump, and use The Force during puzzles.

Often you will have to use a single button to Jump, Wall Run, and Jump again, then continue to repeat this process, Paddles increase the ease and timing of these abilities.

Similarly, jumping and attacking during combat is quicker using Paddles.

For SCUF Vantage 2 players, place Droid Scan (D-Pad Down) on S1 and Heal (D-Pad Up) on S2. Having Droid Scan on the left SAX button will make it more convenient to access, especially when exploring new areas. Meanwhile Heal on the right SAX button will be quicker and easier to access when you really need it during combat, and you will have your left thumb on the thumbstick to keep moving.

Thumbsticks

While traversing difficult puzzles and evading hits during combat, movement is pretty critical to survival. Between being quick and steady, the right thumbsticks can make all the difference in how well you play.

  • Concave Thumbsticks are designed for more control over movement.

  • Domed Thumbsticks are designed for more accuracy.

  • Short Thumbsticks are designed for quicker movement speed.

  • Tall Thumbsticks are designed to have more angle to play with and more precise aiming.

For Star Wars Jedi, we recommend a Short Concave Thumbstick on the left to quickly switch directions while jumping or evading attacks, and a Short Concave Thumbstick on the right to efficiently lock onto enemies in combat and comfortably interact with prompts on screen.

Grip

Exploring the universe for hours on end? Avoid slipping during intense combat or during difficult wall runs, with high performance grip: a textured non-slip surface on each SCUF controller. This is perfect for long gaming sessions to improve comfort and performance.

Vibration

Increase your comfort by ordering your SCUF without vibration modules / rumbles (or taking them out if you’re using a SCUF Vantage 2). Vibration can cause fatigue overtime from the added weight in your controller.

Star Wars Gameplay Tips

Here are a few things of note to help improve gameplay:

  • Anytime you see a Meditation Circle, be sure to interact with it to save your game. Only rest if you need to, because it will respawn enemies.

  • Practice blocking and learning to parry attacks early on, it will help as combat increases in difficulty later. Try to strategize fights instead of attacking constantly.

  • The game makes it known that when enemies glow red, you can’t block the powerful attack that is coming, but you actually have two options in this scenario:

    • Evade the attack to avoid any damage.

    • Use your Force powers or quickly attack the enemy as they’re winding up to attack, as they’re now vulnerable, and you can cancel their attack by damaging them.

  • Even though your Force powers have a meter, hitting the enemy refills the meter, so feel free to use them often.

  • Start leveling up the Survival and Force Trees first, this will increase your maximum health and maximum force to help survive early on in the game.

  • During combat, Block before requesting a Stim (Heal) from BD-1 to prevent damage and auto-block incoming attacks while healing.

  • Revisit old planets and places once you’ve learned new abilities; previously inaccessible areas will now be accessible.

  • The Single Bladed Lightsaber is great for small amounts of enemies, while the Double Bladed Lightsaber is better for larger groups and enemies with Blasters. There are two ways to find the Double Bladed Lightsaber:

    • You can head to Dathomir and follow the main path to acquire it early on in the game; however, this option is a bit difficult due to how strong the enemies are.

    • If you’ve gotten the Scomp Link for BD-1 on Zeffo, head back to Bogano to gain access to another part of the Abandoned Workshop.

  • Once you have unlocked the Double Bladed Lightsaber, here’s an alternative layout for the SCUF Vantage 2 to quickly switch between Lightsaber modes during fights while keeping your left thumb on the thumbstick to move. Place the Single Blade (D-Pad Left) on S1 and the Double Blade (D-Pad Right) on S2.

Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order Legendary Beasts

There are 4 optional mini bosses you can find throughout your adventure also known as “Mysterious Creatures”. They are stronger versions of existing monsters you find and fight around the galaxy; you’ll know you’re fighting one if a health bar pops up at the top of the screen like a normal boss fight.

If you find and defeat them all, you’ll earn a trophy or achievement for your trouble, as well as a lot of XP for defeating each one. Plus, you’ll be absolutely legendary.

How To Defeat the Legendary Beasts Using Your SCUF

Key things to remember:

  • Each one of these are tougher than their normal counterparts.

  • They  have special attacks that you cannot parry, so be prepared to evade a lot.

  • All except the Nydak Alpha can be lept on from above for bonus damage.

  • Don’t be afraid to come back to one later if it is giving you a tough time. Even after the story is completed, you are free to roam and explore the galaxy.

Oggdo Bogdo

This one you can find early on in the game, located in Bogano. It has two blockable attacks: a single and a double bite. It has three unblockable attacks, so watch out for when he turns red to quickly evade using your Paddle.

Try to get around behind him to attack his back. Don’t forget about Force powers, slow him down to Heal up using a SAX button or use the above tip to interrupt his attack using your Force powers.

Rabid Jotaz

Located on Zeffo, this one is slow but strong like a regular Jotaz. He only has one unblockable attack, but you’ll still want to evade often using the Paddle since his attacks are slow.

Once again, getting behind him to attack his back will deal the most damage since his face and stomach doesn’t seem to faze it.

Don’t bother using Slow on this one, as it’ll be canceled out.

Albino Wyyyshokk

Located on Kashyyyk, above the Imperial Refinery. Be prepared to evade as soon as you hop into the arena, as it will surprise you. Similar to the Jotaz, it only has one unblockable attack; however, dodging around it to get behind like the previous three will deal the most damage.

Nydak Alpha

Lastly, this one is located on Dathomir in the Nightmare Ruins, it is the most unique of the four beasts and arguably the hardest. Like other Nydaks, it is very aggressive and has ranged unblockable moves.

The Nydak Alpha has two unblockable moves you’ll need to watch out for, but be cautious when parrying its other two moves.

If you decide to parry one of the normal attacks, it will come back for another hit immediately. If you’re able to parry this one, it will then go for an unblockable attack that is avoidable if you dodge.

This one can be slowed, and if you’ve upgraded your pull / push you can stagger the Nydak Alpha to either attack or heal up.
