Gameplay Tips

Classes

No matter what class you pick, you’ll still be able to select a variety of weapons. Some classes might buff certain weapons such as Trickster’s skill tree allows you to choose buffs for shotguns and assault rifles, but other than that you are free to pick your favorite class without worrying about weapon types.

  • Technomancer - Long range, flexible playstyle, uses support gadgets

  • Pyromancer - Medium range, conjures fire, powerful AoE damage

  • Trickster - Close range, hit and run, manipulates time to teleport and slowmo the battlefield

  •  Devastator - Close range, tank, controls gravity

Healing

There aren’t health packs to heal, but you can replenish health by taking out enemies. Each class has unique requirements to heal when fighting:

  • Technomancer - Recover health everytime damage hits

  • Pyromancer - Recover health every time a marked enemy dies by abilities

  • Trickster - Recover health and shields by killing enemies in close range

  •  Devastator - Recover health by killing enemies in close range

Skill Trees and Respecing

Each class has a unique skill tree featuring three major branches for each. There are 22 levels total, so it’s up to you which points you want to use where. The good news is that you can respec if you decide you want to change something or even try a new playstyle.

Gear

There is a looooooooot of gear to pick up, and a lot of it might be trash. You can sell lower tier gear items, but eventually you will be able to dismantle gear to then use the parts to craft and upgrade other gear. We recommend dismantling higher-tiered items that are no longer useful to get better quality components.

Additionally, you can turn on auto-collection through the settings menu. It will auto grab items so you don’t have to manually pick it all up.

  • Settings > Gameplay > Auto Loot Minimum Rarity

Play Better with SCUF

You can customize your SCUF layout to how you like to play, so here are some recommended layouts to help improve your game.

Easy access to take cover and evade incoming attacks while you’re in the middle of a fight will be crucial to your own survival - the best part is, you don’t have to take your thumbs off the thumbsticks.

With four paddle options on Prestige and Impact, you can also have natural and access to pick up items, interact with things, and swap weapons with your fingers on the back of the controller.

Thumbsticks

The right thumbsticks can really help improve your aim as well as comfort. Concave short thumbsticks give you quick movement and better control, while tall domed thumbsticks will improve your precision when aiming.

Tall thumbsticks are also great for people with larger hand sizes to be more comfortable while you play.

High Performance Grip

While you’re playing for hours on end with friends through the campaign, high-performance grip will reduce slippage and increase comfort during long hours of play.

Outriders officially released on April 1st, 2021 by Square Enix for Xbox One, PS4, PS5, Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S, and PC.
