Improving Your Aim in Rocket League

Improving Your Aim in Rocket League

Nothing improves your aim more than having the right thumbsticks especially in Rocket League where scoring the ball is the top priority. Everyone has different hand sizes, thumb lengths, and preferences. That’s why SCUF thumbsticks are interchangeable: to match your unique preference of comfort and playstyle.

Step One: Understanding Thumbstick Shape and Length

There are two parts to the thumbstick: its shape and its length.

  • Concave Thumbsticks are designed for more movement control.

  • Domed Thumbsticks are designed for more accuracy.

  • Short Thumbsticks are designed for quicker movement speed

  • Tall Thumbsticks are designed to have more angle to play with.

Step Two: Selecting Your Thumbsticks

Gameplay in Rocket League is very fast paced and overall fairly aggressive, you need the best control over your steering and aim to keep up, switch up directions, and change strategies on the fly.

Maintain quick steady control and pinpoint accuracy with a Short Concave Thumbstick on the left and a Short Domed Thumbstick on the right.

If you have larger hands, try out the Tall versions of the sticks for additional comfort while playing.

Step Three: Camera Settings to Improve Your Aim

In addition to thumbsticks, there are several in game camera settings to help improve your aim. You want to have a wide range of view, but be close enough to your car to have control.

Max out your field of view to be able to see the largest amount of the field as possible.

  • Go into Options > Camera > Field of View > 110

Keep your view as accurate as possible by increasing how stiffly the camera follows your car.

  • Go into Options > Camera > Stiffness > 0.60
