If you are setting up your Nomad for the first time, it's important to note that right out of the box, the paddles are set to default settings. This means the paddles may not work in the game or application you are trying to use them in. To fix this issue, there are several solutions.
The first way is to open the SCUF Nomad Companion app. Press the menu button and navigate to the Preferences section. From there, select "Profile Settings," choose "Custom," and then select your preferred profile. If you have not already customized the starting profiles, it will be set to the default factory mappings. Please note that the paddles will not work while navigating through the SCUF app.
If your paddles are still not working, ensure the profile you want to use does not have inputs mapped to M1 or M2. To check this in the SCUF Nomad Companion app, press the menu button on your controller and navigate to the Customization section. Select the profile you want to use, then go to the back of the controller under the Customization section and find the paddles. Ensure that both of your paddles are not mapped to M1 or M2. If they are mapped to these inputs, you need to change them.
If both paddles are still not working, start by going into the application or game you wish to use your controller with. Then, go into the settings within the app and navigate to where you might find settings to enable controller usage. Please note that some games require you to enable controller settings or complete a prerequisite, such as a tutorial, to use a controller.
If your paddles are still not working after trying all these steps, try resetting your Nomad. Press and hold the home button and the Bluetooth button simultaneously for 5 seconds. The lights will flash red and then illuminate side to side.
