Everything Announced at the September PlayStation State of Play

Sony is back in the limelight with another State of Play event just days before pre-orders for the infamously expensive PS5 Pro. The third Sony State of Play 2024 included some very important news for gamers all around the world.

The PlayStation State of Play September 2024 was announced on short notice. During its short 35-minute presentation, we saw a slew of brand-new PS5 games coming out soon.

There is a lot to keep track of. So, to help, we’ve compiled Sony State Of Play all announcements.

We learned that Team Asobi’s critically acclaimed Astro Bot would receive a significant upgrade to kick off the State of Play. It will include five new online speedrun levels and ten new bots based on titles such as Helldivers 2 and Stellar Blade. The popular platformer has now released some free DLC, including 50 brand-new areas for gamers to explore. Best of all, it is currently accessible so you can enjoy the new material immediately.

Sucker Punch is back with Ghost of Yōtei, the much-awaited sequel to their 2020 smash Ghost of Tsushima. The game offers a stunning background of expansive grasslands and frozen tundras, laying the groundwork for another evocative, action-packed adventure.

Ghost of Yotei is expected to be released sometime around 2025.

Alan Wake 2 DLC The Lake House Reveal Image

Alan Wake 2 DLC: Lake House

Alan Wake 2 will finally receive its long-awaited DLC, Lake House. In this edition, players act as Federal Bureau of Control agent Kiran Estevez. She will return from the original game and investigate a tragic occurrence at an FBC research facility near Cauldron Lake.

Lake House will be released sometime in October.

Fear the Spotlight is receiving a massive boost with Blumhouse Studios publishing as one of their initial games during their foray into game publication. It is a nostalgic throwback to PS1-era horror by Cozy Game Pals.

In this unsettling survival game, players follow Vivian and Amy as they sneak into their school after hours, only to confront the horrifying aftermath of a failed séance. Fear the Spotlight will be available for PS5 and PS4 on October 22, 2024.

Dynasty Warriors Origins Reveal Image

Koei Tecmo has officially announced that Dynasty Warriors Origins will be released on January 17, 2025, for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and Steam. Origins is treated as a mainstream entry rather than a spinoff. It moves to a tactical action RPG structure, with a tale that begins before the Yellow Turban Rebellion to examine Zhang Jiao’s origins and participation in the revolt.

We now have a new Monster Hunter Wilds teaser as well, revealing the game’s release date of February 28, 2025.

Lego Horizon Adventures was unveiled in June. We learned about the release date of the event, along with a new teaser confirming that Lego Horizon Adventures will be available on PC, PS5, and Nintendo Switch on November 14. The teaser reiterated the game’s main concept: it is a kid-friendly, Lego-fied remake of Horizon Zero Dawn’s plot that isn’t afraid to deviate from canon with costumes inspired by other PlayStation characters such as Sackboy or Ratchet & Clank.

This one has been around the rumor mill for some time and is finally official. Horizon Zero Dawn Remastered will be available on the PlayStation 5 and PC on October 31.

This one is scheduled to arrive on PS5 and PS VR2 in Spring 2025.

Hell is Us is set in a war-torn country where something strange and unexplainable happens. While the idea may not be the most unique, the game’s fascinating combination of genres and gameplay styles sets it apart. This should arrive around 2025.
