Improving Your Aim In Doom Eternal

Improving Your Aim In Doom Eternal

Are you ready to take out enemies like the Arachnotron with ease? If you're having trouble getting those perfect shots on weak spots, maybe it's time to take a look at what kind of thumbsticks you play with.

The number one thing to improve your aim is having the right thumbsticks. Everyone has different hand sizes, thumb lengths, and preferences. That’s why SCUF thumbsticks are interchangeable: to match your unique preference of comfort and playstyle.

In this guide, we'll be going over how to improve your aim with the right sticks and settings.

Step One: Identify your Playstyle

Do you prefer to take a more direct aggressive approach or try to strategize how to take down enemies? What kind of weapons do you like to play with? Your preferred style is a key part in what thumbsticks will suit you best.

Step Two: Understanding Thumbstick Shape and Length

There are two parts to the thumbstick: its shape and its length.

  • Concave thumbsticks are designed for more movement control.

  • Domed thumbsticks are designed for more accuracy.

  • Short thumbsticks are designed for quicker movement speed

  • Tall thumbsticks are designed to have more angle to play with.

Step Three: Choosing Thumbsticks

For players who enjoy using weapons like the combat shotgun, we recommend a short concave thumbstick on the left and a short domed thumbstick on the right. You’ll be quick to move and ready to quickly aim.

For players who prefer weapons like the heavy cannon or rocket launcher, we recommend a short concave thumbstick on the left and a tall domed thumbstick on the right. You can still move quickly, but also be the most accurate when aiming.

In Doom Eternal, like its predecessors, you want to keep moving to be able to survive the crowds without sacrificing your aim. The right combination of thumbsticks will help you achieve this to survive.
