S-Tier Characters

Ironeye

While he might not seem like much at first, Ironeye is actually one of the most powerful and useful Elden Ring Nightreign characters. Since archery is considered a strong element in the game, Ironeye’s focus on ranged combat automatically makes him a top-tier pick. His Marking ability supports his team by providing bonus damage, though it also offers utility in other situations.

Ironeye can use Marking to reposition himself and avoid incoming attacks. His Single Shot ability delivers excellent damage and stagger potential—especially potent when paired with Duchess, who can replicate it. In addition to his mobility and utility, Ironeye excels at sustained ranged attacks, firing off multiple shots without interruption.

His ultimate ability is one of the most powerful in the game. It launches a massive storm arrow that strikes all enemies in its path, creating a powerful gust that deals additional bonus damage. Beyond offense, it also revives all downed allies it touches, disrupts lethal bosses, and can even intercept a Nightlord. This combination of lethality and support is what places Ironeye so high on this Elden Ring Nightreign tier list.

Duchess

Duchess is another powerful character in the game, with her full potential heavily influenced by her teammates and their ability to communicate effectively. Her passive ability, Magnificent Poise, allows her to dodge twice in a row—an excellent tool for quickly jumping in and out of combat. However, it’s her Restage ability that plays the most critical role, enabling her to repeat instances of damage.

Her ultimate lets players turn the entire team invisible for a few seconds, providing just enough time to revive downed allies or heal them. The effectiveness of Duchess’s abilities depends on coordination and timing. When used strategically and in sync with the team, her skill set can make it possible to defeat even the most challenging bosses.

Elden Ring Nightreign Character Classes Recluse

A-Tier

Executor

If you prefer a strong parry-based playstyle, then Executor is the perfect option. The character's starting skills and armaments make it easier for players to inflict blood loss and deal massive damage in a short amount of time. Their ultimate ability allows them to cover large distances instantly and can even stagger a Nightlord while transformed.

However, there is a drawback to choosing Executor: their Cursed Sword skill causes them to move slowly. Given how quickly many of the bosses in Nightreign attack, facing a tougher opponent and preparing to counter requires quick reactions—and Executor must be ready to spring into action. Additionally, activating their weapon art at the right moment is crucial for success.

Recluse

The Elden Ring Nightreign Recluse class is one of the most complex in the game. She can strategically wield both Staves and Sacred Seals, effectively serving as the game’s primary spellcaster. While the class is capable of using Incantations and Seals, her class skill—Magic Cocktail—is the main reason for its complexity and the source of its high damage potential.

Recluse’s ultimate is also quite useful, marking targets for a short period of time and allowing her teammates’ attacks to recover both FP and HP. However, the class’s main weakness is its very low HP pool. As a result, it's important to avoid drawing aggro and to master the necessary combos in order to fully capitalize on the power of Magic Cocktail.

Wylder

Wylder is a fairly balanced class that can break enemy stances with Onslaught Stake and enhance mobility using Claw Shot. However, he has a relatively low FP pool, which means you’ll often find yourself relying more on basic attacks and fewer flashy skills. While he doesn’t particularly excel in any one area, he remains a solid choice thanks to his ability to wield any armament effectively and withstand otherwise fatal blows.

B-Tier

Revenant

Revenant is an excellent support character with a large FP pool, the ability to summon spirits to distract enemies or heal allies, and access to dual spell casting. However, she has low HP and very limited defensive capabilities, which can pose serious challenges. She isn’t suited for frontline combat in Nightreign. While she thrives in a coordinated squad, she can be taken down quickly if left without backup.

Raider

Raider falls into the B-tier category—still perfectly playable, but with some clear limitations. While his brawler concept has potential, his damage output doesn’t quite justify the need to take hits to unlock his strengths. He tends to struggle against faster or ranged opponents, and his ultimate art isn’t strong enough to carry the rest of his kit. With the right team support and careful positioning, he can still perform well, but he’s not an optimal pick for every situation.

Elden Ring Nightreign Character Classes Guardian

C-Tier

Guardian

Guardian is relatively slow and doesn’t deal much damage, especially compared to other classes that can tank effectively with the right setup. On top of that, one-on-one scenarios—where his strengths would shine—are fairly rare. While he does offer an impressive combination of defensive abilities, it’s generally better to opt for more versatile S-tier characters like Ironeye.

Elden Ring Nightreign offers some of the most exciting gameplay in the current gaming landscape. Each character class brings its own unique powers and skills to the table, making every one of them both powerful and useful in the right hands.
