The 2024 CDL Rookie of the Year award was decided at CDL Champs, and the award went to none other than Isaiah "Gwinn" Gwinn. Gwinn was certainly a frontrunner for the ROTY pick, and after entering the CDL at the tail end of 2023 joining the Carolina Royal Ravens, Gwinn went on an absolute tear this season, coming in first for overall K/D in the CDL.
Coming from Challengers, Gwinn was previously on OMiT. Carolina was not Gwinn's first foray into the CDL, however, as he played as a substitute on Seattle Surge until June of 2023.
The Ravens picked up Gwinn in November of the same year, a decision which quickly paid off. Gwinn's fast paced SMG playstyle promptly found success in the league, even garnering him the CDL series kill record with 112 kills across five games.
Having now achieved the title of 2024 Rookie of the Year, Gwinn has cemented his place as a fearsome contender in the CDL, and will certainly be a player to keep your eye on next season.
Gwinn plays on a SCUF 4PS, and has been awarded a custom SCUF Rookie of the Year Reflex for his accomplishments.
